4/6 or 5/7 drop
Almost have my mind made up on a ece 4/6 for my 71 c10 shortie. But the 5/7 looks really good as well. If I go with a 5/7 I haven’t found a kit so what is the best way to go for that. Thanks in advance

Don't forget that if u go with the 5/7 drop, you have to c-notch the rear frame, in case you didn't know.

2 1/2” drop spindles, 3” springs up front, 5” springs with 2” blocks out back and a C-notch.

Re: 4/6 or 5/7 drop
My leaf truck is 4 1/2" front 7" rear drop with no C-notch. To make your life easier look at doing 2 1/2" spindle in front with 2" spring. Then do 5" spring in rear with 1" block.
You can always go to a 2" block in the rear for a little more drop or back to the 1" for a little more clearance. |
Re: 4/6 or 5/7 drop
I agree with Mike C. I had the 5 1/2, 7" drop and ride quality wasn't the best. Also the castle nut on the pitman arm and the nut on the idler arm was rubbing on the sway bar when turning. I went to 2" springs in front from 3" and 1" blocks in the rear from 2". That made the ride much better. I loved the look of the 5 1/2, 7" drop but I drive mine almost everyday and needed a better ride.
