I am getting ready to paint my 68 gmc truck,
the question is <i ahve gotten clear coat to paint it with but i heard some wear that it would be better if i used acrilyic anamel,
any suggestions

Spend the $$$$ for base clear,enamal is for tractors and lawnmowers.:lol: No really it is a little dated, go with the good stuff your paint job will look nicer and last longer:metal:

clear coat gives it that wet look all the time. wipe it down and go.

Go for the base clear. It's so much easier to shoot than a single stage and looks way better. I don't know why they call it painting, it should be called sanding.. Since the actual painting only takes a few hours.Don't shoot the paint till you are completely satisfied with the body work. It's a pain in the A$$ to "fix it later". I always go with PPG DBU base and PPG acrylic urethane clear....Good Luck To You
