I’m pretty sure it’s the kickdown switch for the th400. The 400, intake manifold and engine in my truck is not the factory setup so I’m trying to figure out how to make this work. Thanks

I've seem several kickdown swithces at the gas pedal inside the truck cab as well, but that one looks like it belongs mounted close to the carb which is also a common place for them to be installed.

The photo shows a similarly looking setup from a 65 impala which came from the linked thread that has other, but not so similar, setups...

Simply put, mount it so that it activates under near full or full throttle off the carb (or gas pedal). If your intake is different, you may have to customize the bracket. Just don't mount it such that it restricts full throttle (unless a teanage boy is involved and then mount it so that it won't spin the tires and leave it unplugged - LOL).
