Recommendation for Rear Rubber Brake Hose
 

1972 K10.

Brake hose sprung a leak.

The last time I replaced it I had some fit issues, the braided line I ordered from Offroad Design did not fit, the fittings were different at one end and wouldn't mate up to my brake lines, ended up going with an AutoZone hose.

These aren't in stock at my local AutoZone, and I don't want to special order a part then it not fit.

Any suggestions, advice, part numbers, links, etc... would be appreciated.

I bought from NAPA over the counter and it worked fine. I had issues with the front ones being too short.

I have the same problem with the front brake hoses being too short for my 72 C20. How did you resolve it?

On the c10, I purchased a set from Brothers. They were close but worked fine. The set from NAPA would not reach, about 1/2" short.

Inline Tube, got all stainless lines and rubber lines from them, my truck is a C10, not a K, but im sure they have it, installed with only 1 issue, the new brake clip on front wouldnt go in very easily, i used my old one, still good

I believe this is the Napa number. Measure yours before you go to confirm. If you need a longer one try a mid seventies K model I think they are close in the fitting department and a little longer. I have also found going to the store with the measurements and a photo of the fittings to work for those times when your vehicle has been modified form stock.

Carquest had everything for a stock Chevy C20 10 years ago, I have had some replacement parts under lifetime warranty replaced just a year ago.

They got bought out, but their warranty is still good at Advance Auto parts.

The braided stainless rear hoses these off road places and lift kit companies sell have the wrong fitting at the axle end. They are just not right and a huge waste of money.

I go to Napa and tell them I have a '75 C20. They are longer than K20 hoses and work like a charm with a 4" lift, probably 6" too

I found out too the hard way that the rear extended line from Offroad Design doesn't work.

So my flare nut at the tee (passenger side) was rounded off, then the drivers side hard line snapped off in my hand as I was "inspecting" it, so now I am replacing hard lines too.
I took my hose to AutoZone and matched it up with 1/4" line, bought some 1/4"gravel guard, then got into it and realized that the hard lines are 3/16", but the flare nut at the tee is 7/16", wheel cylinder end has a 3/8" flare nut.
So the 1/4" line isn't going to work, and the 3/16" line off the shelf at AutoZone won't work either, because it has 3/8" flare nuts at both ends. I want to put the gravel guard spring on it, but i cant find it for much less than $20 per 25 ft, so i decided to try this item from Classic Industries, 2 pre-bent line for $25, plus $10 shipping.

You can also get 3/16" to 1/4" flare reducers. I think I got mine at Napa.
