Wheel identification help

3 Attachment(s)
Hey folks, I have a set of Chevrolet wheels that I need help identifying.. They came with a K10 I bought a while back that came with five restored 15" x 5.5" 6-lug steel wheels with a 3.5" center bore. They have three hub cab tabs. They appear to be powdercoated black but with white paint on the outboard face. Seems to me that a K10 would have come with 15"x6". Anyone know the original application?

not trying to be smart, you sure they are not 6"? 15X6 was standard on base k10.with pop on center. I had a hard time finding a matched set of 5 lug rally wheels, they only made 3 different widths. 15x6-van, 15x7-truck, 15x8-suburban . new member, nice to chat.

I have a few of these and I think they're the predecessor to the 1971 and up disc brake wheels. Aka these won't fit over discs if you have them.

I measured the width from bead to bead.. it is indeed 5.5"

I did test fit these on my 71 K10 with factory disc brakes. They seemed to fit just fine. Could these be from an earlier pre 67 truck?

Re: Wheel identification help

Generally speaking, three nub 6 lug wheels are pre-71 C and K 10. And could go all the way back to 1960 or so. Would have to cross check what widths were available when to narrow it down. The backside pic is so dead on center it's almost an optical illusion.. If the area where the wheel joins the center is tapered, that's another indication that it's a pre-71 wheel. If it's not (I just can't tell in the picture), then they may be aftermarket. Or perhaps very early 71?? I've never seen a 3 nub disk brake wheel though - maybe someone else has though.

This is great information. Thank you. I'll have a close look at the backside of the wheel and photograph what I see.
