SMS the only place?
1 Attachment(s)
I have these seats that I would like to have redone. Actually only the front bench for now.
Is there a place to buy the correct vinyl and cloth so you can give them to an upholstery shop and have them recreate the cover? Part of my issue is the front bench will need a full back on it vs partial back for pick up. And I'm hoping to put a folding seat out of a later model for the second seat and would love it to have stock style upholstery job. Seems like you have to wait months and months to have SMS do your covers. And I don't know if they do "custom covers" … Stock material and pattern on a non stock seat. |

Re: SMS the only place?
I didn't see any material only in any of the usual businesses. Am I just missing them?

Re: SMS the only place?
I just received my Highlander covers, and rear panels for a 1972 Jimmy on Friday from carsinc. About a 4-5 week turnaround time.

No real problem except time to get stock bench or buckets covered (Im amazed at how long some people have waited). But If I wanted a non stock seat covered in a stock material and pattern that matches the front I want to make sure its doable before I get the front done. Thought If I could order the right amount of material I could order it and have a shop make me the covers. And these aren't highlander covers or hounds tooth (but I do like both). |

I just re did my bench with the original Highlander from Carsinc.com
It was about 3 - 4 week wait. I would call them again if I ever needed anything. My local upholstery guy that put it on for me said it was super high quality. I'm stoked, even if the picture is sideways!! |
Re: SMS the only place?
This stuff all makes me miss my dad even more. He could upholster anything, preferring/specializing in pre-WW2 vehicles. He even steam bent the bows for convertible tops for those old machines. I need to do the seat in my truck, so I'm leaning towards getting the cover and having the rest done locally.

Cars inc makes excellent correct custom deluxe seat covers. I just put a blue one in my truck, and my friend has a black one.
