Have a 1970 Eaton DRW 4.56 rear end complete w/new brakes 3000 mi. ago pinion seal leaks. Cab and Chassis 40" spring perch centers $100 local pickup. 95386

Being it’s pre 71 and 4.56. I’d say pull the center section and drums, trash the rest. That is if you need the room.

You really need taller tires to make this gear work for today’s speeds

Imo,
This Eaton rear is a steal at 100.00. Try walking into any salvage yard looking for one then buy it for 100.00, a bit unlikely.
The 3rd member 4.57 gears are low even with OD but mud truck, rock crawlers or any off road folks can't find enough of them.
Fwiw, 4.10 3rds are out there and can be swapped easily, if you still wanted use the DRW HO72 set up. You can get new drums for the DRW but are made by 1 manufacturer priced at a little over 100.00 each.

Agree on the price point, if it was local to me I’d buy it just to have, perfect ratio for a 4wd with taller tires and a gas motor
