I spotted this rig today just out of st. Paul oregon,I drove by and turned around and snapped a picture to share,this was one clean truck for a workin truck.

I sure do like the medium duties. In the "Heavy Haulers" forum is a picture thread for the big GMs. You should go there and add this one. grain body trucks are generally long lived trucks, since they basically only get used at harvest time. Often stored inside and no harvesting in the winter. They are only second to firetrucks for being great survivors, since firetrucks get constant attention and are stored in a heated dry building. But those usually have extra holes and other alterations for their intended purpose

That is clean, probably leaves the barn only a couple times a year

Most likely a 427 tall deck! I wish people would keep scrapping out the oldies just for a dollar.

The metal used in these trucks comes from an area which has the highest ore quality in the world.

And were shipping it to China??????

Any ways (rant over) nice to see an excellent example of these trucks. I bet that thing has no more than 90 k on the odometer.

I could split shift before most people could regular shift.

They are great trucks. Just like special-k said, these grain haulers only get used about 3 months out of the year so they survive well.

When I was in high school I worked on a farm in the summer helping with grain and alfalfa harvest. They still use these trucks today to haul grain short distances. One had a straight six and the other a 350. Split shift is a great thing!

I drove a flat bed version of one when I worked for University of Wyoming back in the 90s. What a great truck. I think I still have the radio delete plate, I grabbed it before they auctioned it off.
