Driveshaft Question

Okay, so I'm doing a "piece at a time" swap in my 68C10 from a 327SBC w/3spd manual with factory rear (truck) 12bolt to a 454BBC with 4L60E overdrive auto and (passenger car) 12bolt posi.

I'm hoping to do the trans swap first. I know that I'll need a new driveshaft.

I need to know if, when done but still behind the SBC, will I then need a 2nd new driveshaft when converting to BBC...or put another way...

Is there any difference whatsoever in trans bellhousing (horizontal) locations between SBC and BBC ?

and then is there any difference between 12bolt (truck) and 12bolt (car) nose lengths ?

Re: Driveshaft Question

Yes. If you use the factory big block stands for the big block conversion it will push the transmission back 1'' from the small block position
