292 Motor mount
Thinking about doing a 292 in my ‘72 C10.

You need to be a Premium member to post a WTB. If you see anything for sale on the parts board you can buy it, you just can't post the WTB. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/payments.php Thanks, LockDoc, Moderator |
Re: 292 Motor mount
If I was able to locate all the parts I'd be inclined to do the same. Never had an inline in any of the trucks I've rebuilt.

Without looking I think the 6 month subscription is 15 bucks. Then you could post a WTB on the parts board. LockDoc |
Re: 292 Motor mount
There are a lot of people pulling l-6 engines. It should be easy for you to fine everything you need.

The 250 /6 parts are easy , The 292 Passenger side engine perch not so easy . :chevy:
No, Sorry there not for sale . |

Forged from refined Inobtainium. However, unnecessary in a C/10 installation. |
Re: 292 Motor mount
Was the inobtainium brought in from Pandora?

Re: 292 Motor mount
passenger side 292 motor mount perch is available through " stove bolt" or "12 bolt" ( I think). I've had one for 5 years with no problem. Only thing is it covers up your mechanical fuel pump mount and hole in the block, means going to an electric pump.

Re: 292 Motor mount
I'm thinking there were less produced ,But so many 6 cylinders were swapped over to small blocks and you can just drop a small block in place of the 250 using the same 250 engine perches .You can't use the right side 292 perch with a small block so they probably got tossed off to the side and replaced with a 250 right side perch or a set of small block perches ? anybodies guess ? there are probably a bunch laying under garage work benches all over the country . Last I noticed they were selling for about $100.00 for the right side . :chevy:

Re: 292 Motor mount
Be nice if somebody could stamp some more out, instead of a goofy way to foul up the Mechanical Fuel Pump.

Re: 292 Motor mount
I've got a question about this. If it is not a nut an bolt restoration could you move up to the 73 frame and engine mounts?

You can use the '73 frame brackets on the SB and BB engines with a little modification but I think it would take quite a bit of modification to use them on the 292 engines, at least on the right side. LockDoc |

Re: 292 Motor mount
Sorry, I didn't proof read my question. I meant to use the frame brackets.
