Painting Springs and Sway Bars

What is the general idea about paint on springs and sway bars. Is a flex additive needed? Are there any rattle can options?

Cleaned to Bare metal then epoxy primer then base coat no additives same with coil springs and leaf springs no obvious paint falling off in 5 yrs.

Good to know. Thank you for input. I just want to do a rattle can refresh. So sounds like it will hold up to the level I need.

No flex agent required, clean prep, and spray.
if bare metal use an etching primer, beforehand.

As long as there are not 10 coats of hard lacquer paint it won't crack/peel.
