Location of new ignition coil

My old MSD Blaster II coil has been replaced with a new MSD HVC-2 coil.
Problem I知 having, is finding a spot for it that will be convenient, but also, out of the way. (Trying to clean up the look under the hood.)
I have Vintage Air now, and a two stage fuel pressure regulator, so the location of the heater delete panel is not really an option now.
The other side, which has the hydroboost, does not have enough space for the coil either.
What I was thinking, is making a bracket that uses the two top transmission bolts, and have the coil laying back, at about 45*, right behind the distributor.
Do you think it will be cool enough?
Any other issue with this location?

Re: Location of new ignition coil

Newer vehicles have the coils sitting right on top of the engine. The Chrysler 3.8 I worked on last week had the coil pack mounted on top of the thermostat housing.

I think you'll be OK mounting it there.

I just added one due to installing an Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI system. I mounted mine on the firewall somewhat behind the power brake booster.

I知 sure I値l catch some grief for this idea, but I mounted my coil to the VA bracket inside the truck. Still in the mock up stages. If it causes an issue there I値l find another location.

I went with a stock sized coil so I could keep it out of sight in the stock mounting location. If the stock location works, I don't see why mounting yours above the front edge of the transmission would be a problem.
