Front end rebuild on the '68 C10
I'm going to spend my first winter being retired rebuilding my front end steering, ball joints and control arm bushings. Any recommendations of a part manufacturer to use? Kits or individual parts you think? vendors? Appreciate the input, thank you.

Re: Front end rebuild on the '68 C10
When I did mine I could buy complete assembled upper and lower A arms with Moog ball joints and bushings cheaper than I could buy all the components to disassemble and rebuild my A arms.
They bolted right in and everything aligned perfectly...been performing perfectly for a little over 3 years now. Just an option to look at. |

Thank you! From what I have researched, Moog products seem to be a best choice...

Moog is the big name in chassis parts & is good stuff. TRW is handled by NAPA & are good parts also. There are some cheap stuff floating around . Some of it doesn't last 1 year.

Congrats on the retirement. I also agree with the moog stuff and A-arms with all the stuff ready to go.

Staring at the computer earned you money. Staring at your truck is going to cost money. Do more driving than staring. Have a good one!

Moog parts is what I went with on my 72C20. Great parts and top quality can't go wrong with them.

Re: Front end rebuild on the '68 C10
I did this a few years ago and also bought all Moog part as well. The parts are fine and all, but the only issue I had was the boots deteriorated very, very quickly (about 2 years). So I bought poly boots as replacements from Prothane...much better.
