6 spd conversion

This is first thread I have posted, but here I go. Have a 6 spd tranny from a 93 Z-28, and am considering putting it in a 67 shortbed. Truck was a three on the tree, but po put in short shaft 350 auto. I have what I think I need for the hyd. clutch, but where would shifter land and would I be shifting seatback to dashpad? Also speedo on 6 spd looks to be electronic. Has anyone tackled this one? Thanks in advance.

Go here for tranny dimensions. Scroll to the middle of the page. Looks like the shifter will be about 28.3" back. Use the '93-'97 f-body tranny dimensions. You can get a box to convert the electrical signal to mechanical or you get a tailhousing modified for the mechanical cable.
Here's the link for the box: Cable X

Some people have done this. I think for the speedo, you will need to go to aftermarket gauges or I think there is a company that makes an adapter to go back to the mechanical speedo. The shifter will be long throw, but not that bad. If you use an aftermarket type shifter, you should be able to adjust it. Someone with more experience will surely fill in the rest.
