Mike... I would check and see if there is voltage at the little junction block on the passenger fender.. (I have seen the terminal break and leave the insulator intact) ... but if good.. then check at the positive pole on the alternator.. if you have no voltage then there is most likely a break in the 12 gauge wire between the alternator or regulator (assuming you still have the original style alternator) and battery... if you have voltage there.. then I would proceed to the block on the firewall... you could either unbolt the wireharness and check the voltage.. (a 12 gauge red wire).. Or poke a test light through the insulation on the wire..
