I like how he said in his letter that "honey, it only costs $1600" We have all used the same technique with our wives. I just convinced mine that I really need a big block engine. I told her I can get one that only costs $350. Of course I left out the part about the tear down, machine shop work, new engine parts, gaskets, new carb, chrome parts and so on. In their own way, they really do wnat us to be happy, so if we really want it, and we can make it sound simple and not too expensive, they usually give in. Next time I'm at the magazine stand I will have to pick up a copy of Hotrod. I quit reading it when the rice burner high performance craze started.
