The P/S pump on the newer engine will work fine, that's not the issue. The big problem will be that '67s were different from the later GM trucks because they had power -assisted steering, not the direct power steering that came in in '69. I tried putting a '69 P/S gear on my '67 K/10 Suburban and had a lot of problems, especially with the steering geometry. It wouldn't turn as tight.

People have done it, but it's not a simple bolt-on.
