Well, this may be K/10 specific, but the manual steering gear box on my '67 4x4 Suburban had a pittman arm that swung in a fore-and-aft arc, not left-to-right. I ran into big problems when I tried to mount a P/S gearbox from a '69 onto my '67. Different systems. The turn geometry was all out of whack. I had to JB Weld the old manual box back together and reinstall manual steering.
The manual gear box on my '68 C/10 pulls left-to-right, and looks like a smaller version of the hydraulic Saginaw P/S gearbox. Don't let the body style fool you, the '67s are more closely related to the Task Force trucks ['66-'58] at least in the steering end.
