We found a donor panel out of a '01 silverado that was burnt, cut the panel out with about an inch of metal around it, then cut out the back of cab and welded it in. It was alot easier doing it that way than trying to cut the hole in the cab, you would probably never get it to stop leaking that way. The new light sits in a sort of dimple/ridge that would be impossible to reproduce I would imagine.
