I like Edelbrock, nothing wrong for me yet, in the few things I've gotten from them. But really, is the 1406 Carb more of an economy than the others? Well dagnabit! I wanted to pump MORE fuel in my hog!
Really though, I run a Performer intake, and #1406 E-choke 600cfm carb on my 69 (well, did, before I started tearing everything down) and I never really had trouble with it, after we set it up right and my buddy adjusted it for me (don't play around with mixtures and crap, unless you know what you're doing) when we stuffed the HEI in and timed it right and everything.
