You should probably pop the spindles to relieve the springs (very carefully, and much easier to do if your truck front heavy, i.e., with engine, using a floor jack to slowly lower the lower arm and also compress it when you are ready to put it back together). If that is what you are asking.

I think it is easiest to take the arms off and then pull the shafts, but you may have to do the final tightening of the shaft bushings with the arms installed back on the truck...it provides a better grip and leverage!!
