chevjayfsd, the only stupid question is the one that nobody asks.
The windshield wipers are mounted via a splined post. There is a small "catch" ring on the post below the splined portion. The windsheild wiper arm is spring loaded to maintain pressure of the wiper blade against the windsheild.
What ya do is carefully push the catch on the arm out of the ring on the splined post. Then tilt the arm slightly back toward the windsheild and pull the arm firmly but gently straight off of the post.
It can be kind of frustrating. And it's definitely easier to do than it is to explain.
Try not to pry against the cowl metal if yaou have to resort to force. You wouldn't want to mess up the paint.
