My shortbed 4x4 was rusted through along the crossmembers.I fixed it though,after it was welded I bought some extra metal to bolt on the inside of the frame to brace it.As for the front of yours,if you plan on going power steering,some cut out the old frame portion where the steering box goes,and weld in a section of frame from a power steering frame since they are different.You dont have to,you can dimble it,but if the frame needs attention there I would go ahead and weld in a different section for the power steering
Here was and is mine now:The frame is solid,and the truck is almost ready to paint.Good luck with the build
