Actually, I missed the fact that you have a 72...
The spacer and bezel do not look correct for the 68-72 model pickups. Judging by the pic that bezel (#3) is for a 67. I may be wrong about the spacer (#2) but it looks too shallow.
The instructions i posted are correct for your model year, but the bezel should look like the following.
