I was 5 or 6 yrs old in the late 60's, we lived on a small farm, 15 acres, we still own it....... anyway, my fondest memories ( car wise ) are watching my older brothers work on all there own stuff, we had a tree that a chain hoist was usually hanging from that was used to pull and swap motors, what is left of that tree is still there,it is one of the coolest things about the place.

Old School for me is watching how you could take a V-8 out of a 55 or 56 pontiac safari wagon ( my Grandpas car ) and it bolted right into a 56 GMC pickup, the truck had a manual trans so it was pull started and driven to the black top i think so they could do burn-outs, lol

The other old school stuff I remember is blue jeans and plain white t-shirts.
Also that the orginal Coke (soda) would work good to clean engine parts.
