Everyone has their own preference as far as brands and grinds that they use. Mine is Competition Cams 268 High Energy. It has a good idle works well with power brakes and A/C.

It is a good cam for a pretty much stock engine and will give you a strong bottom end and midrange which is what you need in a truck. It is easy to overcam an engine and hurt it's performance rather than help it. You want to avoid the long duration cams with a lot of overlap in an otherwise stock engine.

This particular grind is perfect for a truck with a pretty much stock engine. Headers, a dual plane intake manifold such as an Edelbrock Performer, and the right carb will wake up a stock engine. Just my preference. ...Joe
