rear sway bars?
my front end on my '68 long bed stepper isn't terribly loose but you can tell that rear end is throwing around.
any chance there is a taller geared rear axle in a late model "somthing" that has all the correct hardware? like coil spring buckets, etc. that could be a direct bolt in?
