I have the 1405, but converted it to electric choke. Starts right up in the winter, does not boil over or vapor lock in the summer (I live in the desert of Utah), it is easily serviceable, and as stated above, the booklet tells you exactly what you need to do to tune it to your engines requirements. I personally like them over the Holley. (sorry Holley users) My only other choice for a carburetor is a properly tuned Q-jet. I still have the original '68 Q-jet in my garage.
