This is funny.I guess you never notice there were only two gears on the column indicator.I also thought`69 was the last Powerglide year.It`s pretty cool,I think.It has nothing to do with your final drive ratio,but P/Gs did come with a lower gear than the TurboHydramatics,in general.The Powerglide is a tougher trans than an r700.But,not adequate gearing for todays faster hyper pace.If you drive a Powerglide like we all should be to save gas money(pull off gradually with a light touch on the throttle and accelerate gradually*),that`s how they are at they`re best (or built for 1/4 mile).
