Thanks for posting that, and I wonder if the 5.3 made that much power the 4.8 should be not to far behind it. Unless there is something very different that the smaller engine can't accept that the 5.3 can there might be some hidden potential in it. The mods they used in the article made some serious power no doubt.
There is a complete 4.8 near the house at a wrecking yard, out of a tahoe and they want $700 for it. Tempting.
