My uncle has a 1941 Packard for real woodie wagon with an old style automotive swamp cooler that hangs in the passenger front window. Looks like an old electrolux vacuum cleaner hanging on the window, outside the car. I'll see if I can find a picture, somewhere.
Puts out amazingly cold air at about 45 MPH & over. At a stop light you get absolutely nothing, though. Gotta be
moving pretty good for the air flow to push through it, & be chilled by evaporation.
By the way, it gets about 200 miles per gallon, and the fuel for it is free at almost all gas stations ........... the swamp cooler --- not the Packard.
