I saw a guy who had done this on a late model full size blazer. He had converted from independant front to a solid axle. He wanted the height of an 8" spring but still wanted to get a good ride. He took a set of 10" lifted springs and removed the second spring in the pack. Acording to him it worked great and the ride was much better than he expected.
