That's not a LOT of hp, but by no means is 480 slow. Lots of good help here. I know of a '90ish 454 S-10 that hooks great! It's a built frame with wide slicks. I'd say tilt the rearend and ladder bars, or tilt rearend and slicks and go from there. When I say slicks, not full blown slicks, more a dot street radial. I just biult a '91 with a LOT of hp. I'll be back halfing mine very soon, it scares the crap outta me!
