They have always come right out for me with maybe a bit of wiggle work. I need to replace the one in my truck now as the hazard switch is broken and the switch won't cancel on one side most of the time. You did take all of the screws out? I think there are three that hold it in.
Also if you just broke the cam (the part that moves with the lever you can buy that separate and not have to replace the whole switch. Saves a stack of bux.
