I just went thru this, and as for alignment, all you need to do is space out the 2 bolts that go to the block, I have/had the same issue and all I did is add 2 3/8" washers on the block side on the mount, and BAM! perfect alignment. The bolts that cam with my bracket where easly long enough to support the extra thickness.
The reason for my misalignment, was due to buying a new aluminum water pump, the house is just a tad thicker on the flanges and pushed the pulley out some, so I had to align all my pulleys to the water pump. Good news is that on all the pulleys all i had to add was 2 washers.
