Don't just wipe grease on the bearings and put them in. You have to work the grease into the bearings. Put some grease in the palm of one hand, take the bearing in the other hand, and with the large side towards the grease, just tap the bearing into the grease in your hand. After a bit, you'll notice the grease start appearing at the
top, small, side of the bearing. After you've done that all the way around the bearing, THEN you wipe some on the outside of the bearing, (now your bearing is packed), and put it in. Hope this helps?
