lots of people have done this, plenty of writeups floating around too...

everyone claims it makes a big difference, you need new plug wires too. Lots of guys swear by the $45 skip white HEI on Ebay,

all you need to do is run a new 12V keyed hotwire to the HEI and open your gaps to .45
