That works but it is much easier to place the sheet on the surface you need to make the gasket for, and punch out the holes with a drift punch through the bolt holes. When thats done, fix the sheet to the mating surface with the correct size bolts and GENTLY tap around all of the edges with a light ball peen hammer held at 45 degrees to the edge. The sharp metal will very precisely cut the gasket for you and since it's an exact match---
