I think it depends on some variables, like what motor mounts you used and the position on the frame they were bolted to. Also what kind of starter and if it is a manual or automatic transmission.

I have found that a mini starter is necessary with a big block and headers from recent experience.

I am sure some one else will chime in with more info.
