I pulled the transmission out of my ‘68. I couldn’t adjust the clutch . . . every time I tried, it would just make a horrible racket. Turns out that the t/o bearing must have went dry and self-destructed.. . . destroyed the pressure plate with it! Lesson to be learned? Keep your freeplay adjusted!
Anyway, after reading my manuals, I was preparing to remove the bellhousing when I decided to try and get the clutch out through the bottom of the bellhousing. I felt very blessed when the p/p and disc was able to be wiggled out through the inspection cover.

Probably saved me several hours! This week, I hope to install a Hurst floor shifter . . . my column shifter is shot.
