I ran one of the triangle edelbrock filters for a few months when i bought my first '68. It caught fire numerous times, but I'd just crank the engine back up, rev it, and the fire would get sucked down in the engine and go out.
Not saying it will work every time for everyone, but it did for me. All the same, I replaced it as soon as I could. It's still hanging on the wall.
