I have a tank that mounts in that spot, but is plastic. It has a filler neck that is in the wheelwell. I don't know if it was an option, or a dealer/aftermarket unit. It had straps that mounted to the bottom of the bedside, and went around the tank, up to the floor. It is the only one like it I have seen.
