My guess (and I didnt do it!!!) is someone threw down a 1K bid and will just let it ride just to make sure that they go to him.... When I worked att he body shop out east we would get a resto or two from guys that had NO worries about money and basically would write us a blank check to make their car better than their buddies.... I spent many nites on ebay making rediculous bids on NOS parts jsut to make sure we got them.... I remember spending 400 bucks on a NOS road runner hood ornament in 2000....prolly cheap now, but at the time it was nuts...
