if your truck isn't even on the road, then it doesn't matter what gas costs.
The price has gone up before, people whined and cried about it, then the price dropped back down again and everyone forgot and bought gas guzzlers again.
If you feel you need to sell it, it is worth more as a complete project than it is as a pile of parts. Finish the build, and then sell it when the prices have dropped again and everyone fogets expensive gas again.
It will happen, it happens every time.
