I know LINELOCK said it was oem but I have never seen one with plastic letters. They are painted silver as well. Does anyone know of a site or source that can confirm this actual gm? Should there be a number stamped on it somewhere? thanks....

FYI, I have contacted LINELOCK and he has offered a refund. I really don't want to send it back if this is the real deal. I haven't been able to find out if there was some GM parts that went out with plastic letters either chromed or painted.
Yes, the NOS bands with the plastic silver painted letters are the "real deals." They were the NOS replacement parts of the end of the production run...probably in the 80s as mentioned above. I have one for my build. I purchesed NORS metal chrome letters to replace the silver letters, as I prefer the metal chrome ones. But, yes, they are GM NOS parts.
