I just didn't see the sense in running the exhaust through the control arms, around the shocks, over the axle, around the track arm and around the rear gas tank. Plenty of space between the frame and the tires... seemed the best way to run the exhaust and still allow maintenance access to suspension components. And less bends = less flow restriction
But then again I always do things different.
