3.5/5 drop here. Mine has 2.5" pipes and goes over the axle. My exhaust hits, but that's only because the dodo head that did my exhaust didn't know what he was doing. I need to have it redone and I'll get to it one of these days, but for now, it's not a big issue. It can be done. You just need to get a good exhaust shop with an experinced bender to do the work.
