My dad was doing this for a while.
He hit the local small town junk yard and bought all the batteries he could find for half of what the recycle rs were paying. He had a trailer load ready to go, drove them a couple hundred miles to find the scrap price was suddenly reduced. The trip and effort did not pay off.
