Looking at what your doing with the steps on the nerf bar, I hope you don't mind if I offer another suggestion. Based on my experience with steps, you would have a more functional unit if it ran the full length of the truck.
By making the smaller outer bar full length, and filling the gap with expanded metal, it would accommodate a wider variety of passengers, AND help keep road debris off of your paint.

Agree with you on the supercharger vs. modded intake argument - just waiting to hear back from Whipple on what they have for my application. One good thing is that they are only 175 miles from the shop doing the work, so hopefully that'll make things go a little smoother if there are tech issues to resolve.
I know what you are referring to on the side steps & will agree that it would protect the paint on the sides better, but personally I just prefer the look of what we have done - it seems to more "fit" the overall look so far & the side still seems pretty "open" which I like.
