Well, he said it's a 4-in-the-floor, so I'm going to assume it's a 4 speed manual, in which case all Muncie, Saginaw, and BorgWarner transmissions will work with the BOP bellhousing.
My suggestion is for the OP to scope around some Buick forums to see how to find out which engine he has. The thing about BOP engines is that none of them made either a small block or big block. If I recall, though, one of them had a slightly taller deck on their 455 and the intakes wouldn't interchange.
